BY LIFTING OTHERS

A LITTLE ABOUT US

Allow Us to Introduce Ourselves

Here at The International Foundation for Women's & Children's Empowerment, affectionately known as IFWCE ("if-we-see"), we strive to live up to our rather lengthy name. We are international: a partnership between citizens from multiple countries. We are a 501c(3) nonprofit foundation. We focus on lifting entire communities by targeting its most vulnerable populations: women & children.  And our ultimate goal is empowerment: the ability for someone to create their own meaningful and fulfilling life.

THE FOUR PILLARS OF EMPOWERMENT

We recognize oppression as opportunity in disguise.  By targeting areas of oppression (eg. poverty, ignorance, disease, and inequality) we unlock humanity's hidden potential.

OUR PROGRAMS

Each IFWCE intervention is carefully designed to meet our organizational standards: 100% transparency (ask us anything!), self-sufficiency (because what's the point if everything disappears once we are gone?), and beneficiary-lead (listen to the people and then partner with them).

OUR FAMILIES

IFWCE is structured around a focus group of twenty-one families.  These families come from different communities but share at least one thing in common: they were the most vulnerable and poorest of their villages. They literally "started from the bottom". Read their inspiring stories of empowerment to see how far they've come.

Future Teacher

My father is an abusive alcoholic. We are poor and he spends so much on alcohol we often do not have money for school. I have been chased away from school many times for not having books and pencils. I want to become a teacher so I can advocate for vulnerable children like me.
